Claire & Rob @ Zulu Nyala, Hluhluwe

A 5:30am start for us as we prepared to travel to Hluluwe and the beautiful surrounds of the Zulu Nyala Private Game Lodge for Claire and rob’s wedding. As we neared Jozini the landscape seemed to change and the fauna become, well, African, in so many ways! The changing light, the vast forests of tall acacias and the abundant types of grass I just knew I was going to love shooting with… Upon arrival a quick look around to familiarise ourselves with the lodge and then we were straight into our prep shoot with the guys.

Most of Claire and Robins guests were from the Uk and I know that it must have been a fantastic experience for them. Chatting to the crew from Topjocks I was just saying that we live in this country and we don’t even get to experience this so it was really special. The guests were even treated to a leopard sitting and cheetah kill the day before, yes I was green with envy when I heard…. And as much as I begged for the leopards to show their spots it just didn’t happen…

An Open air ceremony with a view over the entire savannah right to the huge sand dunes of the coast line set the scene for what was to be a fantastic day. Not a cloud in the sky and a beautiful breeze to cool everything down. (I’m sure there are a few guests that walked away with a little more than the tan they bargained for when they sat at the pools edge to enjoy a few rays..)

Zulu dancers lead the newly weds into the “quarry” to reveal tables and chairs scattered in the open under the most beautiful African sky, really stunning location for an open air reception.

Here are a couple images from the day…
