Tips

A few wedding day tips:

  • Don’t try to do everything yourself for your special day. Ask for help, delegate tasks to friends and families, they will love being a special part of your day and will love to be involved in your dream wedding. You cannot do everything yourself.
  • Make sure that you have a mini-schedule for the day, and ensure that anyone important has a copy of it. Send a copy to all your service providers. It doesn’t need to be exact but just a rough guide as to how you see the day unfolding, especially the reception. Add important names and phone numbers to the list such as your MC, bridesmaids and best men, parents, minister, service providers, and anyone else you think may be important on the day. At least if something happens somebody will be able to get hold of anybody…J
  • Enjoy every minute of every day leading up to the wedding day, it is an awesome experience and it really does fly by. Take it easy and just enjoy the experience.
  • Have an engagement shoot done before your wedding day. It’s really fun, its helps you relax with the cameras plus you get amazing photos of the two of you.
  • Most guest books end up as dust collectors. Have a professional guest book made from your e-session photos. It will make a perfect partner for your wedding album on your coffee table.
  • Take your bridesmaids with to your dress fitting. It’s important they know how to tie up your dress on the day, it not only saves time but it can avoid allot of stress.
  • Surround yourself with people you love. They are the ones that will remind you of moments, of memories that happened that you may forget.
  • Don’t stress about the weather! There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, but if you are planning an outdoor event make sure you have a backup plan just in case.
  • Make sure you have a versatile photographer. Look at their website and make sure they show a good spread from every wedding so you can get an idea of their style for one and of their versatility for two. You should be happy with the images they are producing on a regular basis. Consistency is an important point to note when booking your photographer.
  • At the end of the day when the party is over and you have returned from honeymoon, photos are the memories that you will look back on for years to come. Allow time for the photographer to capture your day in its entirety and leas with him or her regularly to get input into how much time w=they will need throughout the day.
  • Do something different while you are away from your guests for your creative photo shoot. Let them play games, serve cocktails, cut your cake just after the ceremony and let your guests indulge.
  • Be sure to book your photographer ASAP. Its really disappointing turning people down who really want us to shoot their wedding but we cant because we are already booked. It’s also the worst thing to find your dream photographer only to be let down because you left it to late to book.
  • Remember to ask your service providers about travel and accommodation if your wedding is out of town and check to see if they require seating and meals at the reception.
  • Don’t stress about little things that don’t get done at the reception. The guests will never know and they will still enjoy every second of your wedding.
